Accountant- Commercial Construction in Fort Lauderdale

A leading construction company is looking to add an experienced Accountant to their team! They specialize in delivering exceptional results on diverse commercial construction projects. Responsibilities:

• Manage project cost accounting, including tracking budgets, expenditures, and variances.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable specific to construction projects.
• Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and updates.
• Maintain general ledger entries and ensure proper coding of transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Assist in preparing year-end financials and support audits.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in construction accounting.
• Associates degree -accounting related is preferred 
• Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and AIA billing.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
